You know them days when you have a tutu of tissues surrounding your lap, while you binge watch a few hours to a few days worth of rom-coms. You go through the stages of grief through movies because they all have a way of resonating with what you're going through. Your pity party starts off with Hope Floats, as if you aren't feeling sad enough; why not watch a movie about a husband who cheats on his wife, leaving her to realize she isn't the prom queen she once was, while her whole life seems to fall apart (granted it has a bitter-sweet ending).

Then the revenge feeling kicks in, so you watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. With a mouth full of cookie dough ice cream and pretzels, you sing along with Andy Anderson (Kate Hudson) to You're So Vain, “oh, smart guy’s a rhymer. Well do we want everyone to know your lovemaking is la-ameee”, shortly followed up with “No, I didn't, Ben. Cause you can’t lose something you never had“. Leaving you with a slight feeling of accomplishment as those words leave your lips. As if it was, you saying it in the movie, or if the movie was told from your own life's experience.

Vegging out for hours you blow through Sleeping with the Enemy, He’s Just not that into You, and Pretty Woman, wondering where the hell your Richard Gere is! All while acting as a couch potato who is knee-deep in tissues, stuffing your face with a Crunch Wrap Supreme, Cheesy Gordita crunch, Nachos with a side of cheese, and a Doritos Loco‘s taco, while chugging your favorite wine straight out of the bottle. (Classy!) You have crumbs all over your chest and your lap, and to top it off, you look and smell like a hot mess!

That’s when you suddenly get the epiphany that you need to do as all of those inspirational memes tell you to do and “find yourself", be "a whole person before you can give yourself to anyone else", and pamper yourself. That calm, clear feeling that you get in the center of your stomach at that very moment, which feels like an absolute sense of peace. THAT! RIGHT THERE! is your soul ever so quietly, subtly and passionately telling you, that it is you time!

SO! All those "you" things that you have been putting off because you were lacking motivation. Put them off no more! If you cook, or bake, or write, or paint. Get to getting!! Because now is your time! Focus on who you are and what you love. While you're working on you, pamper yourself as well.

Suggestions:

  • Salt Bath with essential oils

  • Meditate/Breathe

  • Take a free Chakra test and see what chakra's are too open or closed off https://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/chakratest

  • Re-organize your life

  • Start back on your workout routine

  • Eat healthy again (limit your Taco Bell binge eating)

You made it through your pity party and are on the road to self discovery! Be proud of yourself, and enjoy the ride because this next movie that you're going to watch, is going to be a happy one!
